First off I would like to let it be known that I myself am not a manga fan. Other than Dragon Ball Z I’ve never taken the time to sit down and watch such shows. With that being said I definitely enjoyed weathering with you. Initially I was a bit shocked when I saw subtitles but I should of known from the beginning Japaneses is the native language. I initially found the subtitles to be a bit daunting but overtime I got used to reading as each framed is time perfectly where the reader has just enough time to scan and absorb what is happening in the frame. The main character Hodaka runs away to Tokyo to start a new life. There is is employed and is given an assignment to report of superstitions. While on assignment he runs into a girl who is said to be able to control the weather otherwise known as a sunshine girl. But with great power comes a negative side effect. If she uses this power she will slowly connect with the sky and be weathered away. Hodaka soon falls for Hina and they start a life together. As all of this is happening Hina soon discovers her power as she is able to bring sunshine to the city as its being plagued by an everlasting rain storm. Soon she uses this power to her advantage by making money as a sunshine girl. AKA one who controls the weather. This film comes to a climax as one day the weather gets so intense Hina decides to sacrifice herself to the sky and is taken away. Hodaka is so torn and heartbroken he stops at nothing and enters the sky realm to bring her back to earth as he feels the city as taken her sacrifice for granted. All in all I gave the film 5 starts and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering seeing it.
