The insightfully titled, Silent Music examines the situation of love without sound. Character Josh catches the eye for a girl that he meets in a coffee shop and is then challenged with finding ways to get to know her after he learns that she is hard of hearing. Ironically Josh is in a band and loses connection with the other members of the band that presents a difficult choice for Josh. He finds a way to incorporate his band and communicate with her by playing a piece for her.
Director Yukari Kamiya did a great at creating feeling without the characters speaking for a majority of the film. The storyline itself was creative and out of the ordinary that was refreshing and a true original.
