Hawaii International Film Festival or HIFF this year have a lot of interesting films and I am glad that I watched three films which are Headshot, Given and Aloha for Indo and Bittersweet. I choose those particular films because somehow they are attached to me like Headshot because they are film from Indonesia that I could not missed it, it is very rear Indonesian film get into International film festival so I was very excited and proud watched Headshot. Some for Aloha for Indo, because they shot their film in Indonesia and I just want to know how they are gonna shot film or documentary in my country, turns out this documentary showed me an Island in Indonesia that I have never been to, it was really open my eyes and want to travel Indonesia more. I chose Bittersweet, because I like Korean drama and it is because food and a unique relationship. I am so happy that I can get a chance to see these films.
Social media that I attended is Twiter, because twitter is the easiest media that I can elaborate with words and I can add more image with it. I put some hastage to make connection with the other student or people. Film festival is a good way to appreciate a film and support them. Participating in HIFF mean we support the filmmaker.
Given is one of the film/documentary that really influence me and I was so amazed with this film. I like the storyline, it is very unique and the quality of family’s value. I like the Idea of taking video underwater and from the child’s perspective. I love the Cinematography and the effects that they use in the film.
I did learn about the different cultures represented in HIFF, like from around the pacific ocean. Each movie has their own characteristic and how they made the film is different from all around pacific/world. This collaboration is very useful for learning and for our professional experience. I would recommended HIFF to my friend and family because this is a very cool festival. I would recommend Given and Aloha for Indo, because is very inspiring and mind blowing.
