HIFF Wrap Up

I am grateful that I was able to attend HIFF this year. This was my first time attending the festival, and it was a great experience. Despite the confusion I felt watching “Self Made,” I enjoyed watching all the films and was able to “find my moment.”

HIFF is a great way to showcase diversity. It allows us to not only watch movies that represent different cultures, but also to get a peak into the minds and creativity of people of other cultures. HIFF bringsĀ a slice of different parts of the world to create one theatrical and cultural event.

Although I had issues with getting my press pass, I was still able to watch a few films at no charge. I am thankful to HIFF and HPU for allowing me to be a part of it. I watched a variety of films that included a documentary, a foreign film that was part of of the Film for Thought series, a full-length animated Disney movie, and an animation short.

I am looking forward to the next HIFF and recommend it to anyone. The selection is so large that there has to be at least one film that would be interesting.
