Aberdeen is a film that takes place in Hong Kong, while following the Cheng family as well as others. They experience challenges in their everyday lives, both within their families and in the community, such as when a bomb from WWII is found in the middle of the city. Another bizarre happening is the sighting of an enormous whale washed up on shore. The film touches on struggles and topics such

as aging, bullying, identity, infidelity and unresolved business with family members that have passed on. These topics are portrayed through everyday happenings following different families, though we eventually see how these problems bring the families

together in the end. Overall the film is present- ed in a creative way, using unexpected and “dream-like” effects and unusual camera angles.
