It has been a whole year since the highly popular Hawaii International Film Festival entered the island last time. Over 90 movies and documentaries rolling back to back has created an exciting world for the movie lovers out there. As well as being priviliged to watch movies that haven’t even been screened globally yet.
Yesterday, Oct 30th, was the annual press conference for the film festival featuring filmmakers, actors and creative executives in charge of the festival. I was fortunate to be a part of the event through HPU, and meet people who know the business inside out.
The conference started at 10.30am at the Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki, there were press from all over the world covering the event. The energy in the room was filled with positivity and excitement for the festival. The main theme for this year is called Find Your Moment, and the festival encouraged everyone to use the hashtag #myhiffmoment for a chance to be featured and share positivity surrounding the festival itself.
Throughout the conference, Robert Lambeth, Chief Executive of HIFF, presented various movies that they are thilled to show. Some of them involved Lava a PIXAR Animation, The Vancouver Ashi and The Imitation Game, starring Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch. These movies were only a few mentioned.
After being at the press conference, I really felt positive and inspired to go and watch as many movies as possible. If you want, you can check out a recap video I made from the event below.
