I saw the movie Hang Loose by Kevin Wu on Sunday October 21st at 3:15. The theater was so packed when we got there that people were standing to watch the film and Nina and I had to ask some people to arrange their seating so we could even sit next to each other. Those seats were the very first row and we had to look up straining our necks to watch the movie but we did it anyways because the movie seemed like it was worth it.
The movie was filmed in Hawaii, here on Oahu and it only took them 15 days to film!! That’s impressive! The summary of the film is that Wu travels here to Hawaii to attend his big sisters wedding and the night before he goes out with his soon to be brother in law to celebrate his last night single and Wu’s first night single because his girlfriend had just broke up with him he day before. They run into so many complications, get chased by a mob, jump off the spitting cliffs, get in a fight and so on all in one night, hoping to still be alive for the wedding that was the next day. The story line was very funny but did resemble the hang over but still had an impact. The acting was very good and realistic. The producer was the main character, which was interesting, but he played both of his parts to the T. What they did that made things interesting is that they had a twist and all the characters some how had a connection by the end of the movie.
What I enjoyed most about this movie compared to the others was that they had a questionnaire at the end of the movie with all the cast and crew that was there for the premier. I found out more info and was able to meet the crew and cast in person. They made it fun to be there and the whole audience was constantly laughing. Its a movie you can watch more than once.
