The premier of Hang Loose was everything I expected. It was my first time going to the movies since I came to Hawaii and it was my first time in the American cinema as well. As I expected everything was big! The size of popcorn, drinks, movie hall … My friend and I could not hide our excitement and were taking pictures on our every step … like real tourists. We were so excited about everything around us, we unfortunately missed the introduction to the movie, but got in just in time before the lights went down. As soon as the movie started the audience was already laughing. The whole atmosphere was so relaxed and positive; no one could stay moody, bored or cold. The young actor and one of the producers Kevin Hu kept us entertained form the beginning till the very end of the movie, where we took a glance look of making the movie through hilarious bloopers. At the end movie cast greet us on the stage and answered to audience questions. We were also witnesses to Kevin’s crazy and funny dance moves. At the end my friend and I caught a bus ride back to Waikiki, during which we were still going through the favorite movie scenes and laughing about it.
My first experience with the HIFF was amazing and I would definitely recommend to anybody to visit it. It added an important valueto my whole Hawaii experience and a broader view on the world movie industry.
The excitement before the movie Hang Loose:)
