Hossein Keshavarz, director of Dog Sweat
A film about seven people in Iran that all face problems of their own that are deeply misunderstood by the conservative Islamic Society.
Hossein and I spoke for quite a while the other night at the Rumfire event. He was by far one of the most down to earth people I met that evening. We talked story about his trip to Poland after college where he spent 3 weeks, about the food, and sightseeing. He mentioned his favorite food there was kielbasa. Having went to school in Chicago, he had met many polish people throughout his studying.
Hossein mentioned that he was very close with his mother, and at the next festival in Rome and Tokyo she will be traveling with him. Hossein said he’s having a great time in Hawaii so far, and feels accomplished and honored to be at HIFF.
