Here I am with director/actor Keihiro Kanyama and actress Maki Murakami. Kanyama is the director and actor of the SEESAW, a winner of the Halekulani Golden Orchid Award. The film is about a young couple living together in urban japan. When their two close friends get married, the couple begins to reconsider their relationship together. Shinji is ready to settle down, while Makoto wants to focus on his career. Things change when Makoto finds out Shinji may be pregant.
Keihiro expressed his love with Hawaii and the people he has met thus far. “It is my first time and I am really enjoying myself, I even tried surfing here in Hawaii”
Maki expressed that she thinks the people are so friendly here and very welcoming.
Kanyama told me about his award for Skib International Film Competition and his upcoming competition in Vienna in two weeks. “I have never been to Europe, I am very curious to see how it is.” I reassured him that he would have a great time as I told him my family is from Poland and the architecture and people are very friendly. Kanyama feels lucky to have all these opportunities and hopes for more success in the future.
Overall, I got the impression that Kanyama was a very down to earth guy. He was willing to talk and seemed to enjoy meeting me. I wish him the best of luck and hope to see many more films by him.
