HIFF 2010 is set to launch on Thursday October 14. Multimedia, Journalism and Stratcom students are sharpening their pencils and popping new batteries into their cameras in anticipation. The Communication Honors 1000 class is the only first year course to participate in this groundbreaking collaboration. Participating students are required to file at least four stories. These stories include print, still images and low resolution video podcasts.
One instructor said that this year’s collaboration is is a little hectic due to the overwhelming response from students who wanted to take part in this initiative. Director of Media Arts Pete Britos said that “next year’s effort will be a bit more centralized. But the enthusiasm and initiative the students are showing is very promising. We hope that the experience is positive for both the student reporters and the film festival. “
