In addition to my article about meeting the filmmakers and the jury at the HIFF event at Sheraton tonight, I would like to show all you guys the amazing location of this event!! Who wouldn’t get inspired when facing the ocean, music and a blue sky? The atmosphere created by HIFF was wonderful.
But when this is said, HIFF is more than “a great location”. HIFF was established in 1981 and is now the premiere international film event in the Pacific having won the praise of governments, filmmakers, scholars, educators etc. In the United States it is still the largest “East meets West” Festival and this is something to be proud of. HIFF is known for its unique discovering features, documentaries and shots from Asia. Also the Hawai´i filmmakers are remarkable of presenting films showing the culture which is found in Hawaii. Every year more than 1000 films are considered but only an average of 150 features is getting through.
Go get inspired by the location, and discover that there is much more into it!
