Today I saw another great movie:
Would you give up almost 20 years of your life or even your whole life to reverse an unjust court verdict, one that put a family member in jail for a murder he didn’t commit?
That’s the true story told in the film Conviction (by director Tony Goldwyn), which stars Hilary Swank as Betty Anne Waters, a high school dropout who became an attorney to seek justice for her brother Kenny (Sam Rockwell), wrongfully imprisoned for murder in Massachusetts.
Conviction is a very compelling and also heart-touching story that will trigger all of your emotions from astonishment, consternation, anger, grief, sadness, and empathy to happiness! It is likely that one will shed a couple of tears both, because of incredible sadness and also because of delirious happiness in the end!
…some pictures of Hillary Swank from the movie…
The astonishing and moving fact is that this movie is based on a true story!! Could you imagine something like this really happening to you? Seeing your closest family member in jail even though he/she is innocent? And devoting your whole life to fight justice?? It is an unbelievable situation and one can only shake ones head when thinking about how many mistakes are made in this field and how many innocent people have to pay for them…
Here is the beginning of the true story of 1980- told by an involved witness… (the video is taken right after the movie)
Please go see this movie! It’s in cinema already!
